Babies usually start crawling when they are able to sit up by themselves and after learning to scoot on their bellies. This starts around 6-8 months.
They must progress through these stages to successfully crawl:
- able to hold own head up
- able to roll over
- able to scoot on belly
- able to crawl
- able to sit up
You should keep all well-baby check ups because nurses and doctors always track developmental milestones.
