I would like to know as well. He is staying at the shelter in Austin tx, and panhandling at street corners, handing out contact information that says he played with BB King.
I Met Him
I was down town and I met him while he was playing on a corner. He sounds really good. I talked to him for a bit, and he seemed real happy to talk to me. I'm 14 and I play the sax also and I was really interested in his set up. He gave me a free new reed (Vandoren Java 3), which plays great, and really urged me to keep playing. I also got a card with his contact info saying he's a former member of the B.B. King Orchestra. I looked him up on google and found a video of him playing the tenor sax on youtube. Just search for "hilton joseph bb king" and the video will come up near the top. I couldn't find any albums that he recorded with BB King (or on his own) but that they played together in a jazz and blues festival. I hope this helps someone.
He was a really nice guy. I hope I can hear him again sometime I'm downtown.
