Animals who live in groups such as prides, swarms and packs are devided into sections through ranks. The ranks begin at the bottom, with the lowest rank being the 'omega' and the highest rank being 'Alpha'.
These two rank categories come from the Greek alphabet. 'Alpha' is A in Greek, hence forth it is the first letter which suggests that the 'Alpha' of the group is first and the most important. 'Omega" is Z in Greek, so it suggests that the lowest rank being the Omega, is the last and least respected in the group.
