  9. The holy day of Judaism is called Shabbat, which starts at sundown on Friday night, and ends at sundown on Saturday night. This is the day of rest.
  10. Judaism is an ethnic group as well as a religion.

Some key teachings of Judaism are:

*God is one and cannot be divided.

* There is no need for intermediaries; anyone can pray directly to God.

* We are all born good and innocent.

* Humans are unique in all creation in that we have free-will. Not even angels have free will. This is what God meant when He said we were created in His image.

* It is not possible to atone for the mistakes of others.

* It is not possible to atone for mistakes not yet committed.

* God is not a man or son of man.

* Human sacrifice is an abomination.

* People of all nations can achieve a portion in the rewards of the afterlife.

* The messiah will be a mortal man without necessarily having any supernatural aspects.

Judaism commands us to stop and help him.

17). Judaism commands us to give charity. Having a "good heart" doesn't do the job.

18). Judaism commands the service-station owner to maintain the accurate calibration

of his gas pumps, and the supermarket their checkout scales, to assure that they

always deliver what the customer pays for.

19). The plaintiff in a Jewish court has no case without two eye-witnesses who are known

to be trustworthy individuals and are willing to testify under oath against the defendant.

20). A Bar Mitzvah is not a synagogue service or a party, or even a calendar date.

A Bar Mitzvah is a person ... a Jewish male who turns 13, and becomes responsible

for his own ethical behavior and religious practice, like any other adult, whether

or not he or anyone around him is even aware of it. For those to whom it does

make a difference, it's a happy occasion, worthy of recognition and acknowledgment

by the community during a public worship service, and celebration by family and friends.
