That's far too broad a question to answer specifically. It's a bit like asking "what's an old book worth", I'm afraid.

If you're referring to silver coins their value depends on their age, condition, and mint mark. As of 12/2009 they're worth at a minimum about 10-11 times face value just for the silver they contain, but some may be worth a lot more to a collector.

If you're referring to non-silver coins such as cents and nickels, they don't have any special metal value but may or may not have extra value to a collector. For example, most nickels and pennies going back to the 1940s have very little extra value - usually a few cents extra but no more - although a very few such as a 1950-D nickel can be worth several dollars.

Bottom line, without knowing the coins' dates, denominations, and mint marks it's impossible to give specific valuations.

The value of 1965-1979 coins can vary depending on their condition, denomination, and rarity. It is recommended to check with coin collectors, dealers, or online resources to get an accurate estimate of their worth.

If they're U.S. coins taken from circulation, face value only except for half dollars dated 1965-69. These are worth maybe $2.50 each because they are made of 40% silver.

Circulating dimes and quarters dated 1965 and later are made of copper-nickel rather than silver, so they have no extra value.
