The upper fixed point on both scales is the boiling temperature of water

at standard pressure.

That temperature is defined as 100° on the Celsius scale, and 212° on

the Fahrenheit one.

Is 50 hotter on Celsius or on a Fahrenheit scale?

50 celsius Hotter on Celsius Scale

What is 23 Celsius?

23 degrees Celsius is a temperature reading on the the Celsius scale. To compare to the Fahrenheit scale 23 degrees Celsius is equal to 73.4 degrees Fahrenheit.

How many divisions does the Celsius scale have?

There are 100 intervals (degrees) between the freezing and boiling points of water on the Celsius (centigrade) scale. These "degrees" are therefore 1.8 times as large an interval as the "degree" defined on the Fahrenheit scale.

Compare the Celsius scale to the Fahrenheit scale?

The Fahrenheit scale and Celsius scale are different one way by temperature limits. 1. On the Fahrenheit scale, water freezes at 32 degrees. On the Celsius scale, water freezes at 0 degrees. 2. On Fahrenheit scale, comfortable room temp. is 70-80 degrees. Celsius: 20-30 degrees. 3. Normal body temp: 98.6 degrees(fahrenheit) 37 degrees(celsius) 4.Highest recorded air temp: 136.5 degrees(fahrenheit) 58 degrees(celsius) 5. Water boils at 212 degrees(fahrenheit) 100 degrees(celcius) :D

Are celsius and Fahrenheit degrees the same size?

No. Celsius "degrees" are larger than Fahrenheit "degrees", and so represent a larger change in temperature. One Celsius "degree" is equal to 1.8 Fahrenheit "degrees". The Fahrenheit scale has 180 divisions (degrees) between 32° and 212° - the freezing and boiling points of water. The Celsius scale has only 100 divisions (degrees) between 0° and 100° - the freezing and boiling points of water. So the Celsius degrees are "larger" degrees, and a change in temperature in Celsius will be 1.8 times as large on the Fahrenheit scale. That is where the 5/9 and 9/5 fractions come in on the conversion formulas. (see related question)

Zero and one hundred degrees: the freezing and boiling points of water respectively.

What temperature is absolute 0 degrees in Celsius and Fahrenheit?

−273.15° on the Celsius scale which equates to −459.67° on the Fahrenheit scale

What are the fixed points on the scale?

The two fixed points on the Celsius scale are the boiling point and the freezing point of water at sea level. Boiling point- 212◦C, freezing point- 32◦C.HOPE THIS HELPED ^-^

What is the scale for on a thermometer?

The C is Celsius and the F is Fahrenheit. On a Celsius scale water freezes at 0 degrees Celsius and boils at 100 degrees Celsius. On a Fahrenheit scale water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit and boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit because Celsius is used world wide and Fahrenheit is used only in the U.S.

What is 23 Celsius?

What is another scale besides the Celsius scale?

Fahrenheit

How do degrees Celsius relate to degrees Fahrenheit?

The Celsius scale has its 'zero' at the same temperature as 32 on the Fahrenheit scale, and each Celsius degree is the same size as 1.8 Fahrenheit degrees.
