  • Metals are the most obvious example. Electrical conductivity in a copper wire is the result of electrons flowing along an electrical conductor as is the case with DC, with AC the electrons oscillate back and forth and hence have a period that can be modelled using trigonometry.
  • Ionic solutions can conduct electricity. This involves solutions of ions that can carry a current between two potentials by virtue of being charged. This is how sodium chloride dissolved in water will increase its conductivity.
  • Ionic liquids can conduct electricity, much in the same way as ionic solutions. The difference lies in the fact that these ions are not dissolved in a solvent but exist as chsrged ions in the liquid state.
  • Solid state ionic conductorst can conduct by mechanisms that involve ions passing through channels in the solids crystal lattice.
  • A Plasma Gas can conduct electricity as their electrons are delocalised from their atomic orbitals and consequently can move independently of the nucleus.
  • Some minerals such as the Perovskite class can conduct electricity, most famously the cuperate high temperature super conductors are perovskite minerals.
  • Semimetals such as graphite will conduct, electrons delocalised into the unhybridized P orbitals are responsible.
  • Semiconductors and compound semiconductors can conduct electricity. An example would be Gallium Arsenide
  • Certain nanomaterials conduct electricity such as certain types of carbon nanotubes.

add. But conductivity can also refer to sound and vibration waves, and to thermal energy.

A radiator in a car:

the antifreeze/coolant carries heat from the cylinder walls to the radiator which has metal fins with a lot of surface area that air flows over. The path is - cylinder walls, coolant, radiator fins, air passing by.

Metal pot for cooking:

the pot receives the heat or flame and conducts it not only up the middle of the fluid - but up the walls of the pot increasing the radiant are.

Closed circuit steam engine:

Water is warmed in a metal container, the heated water flows to a nozzle under pressure & becomes steam that turns a turbine, then goes to a heat exchanger (a radiator) and returns as cool liquid to start again.

What are two examples of heat conduction that are observable in everyday life?

Two examples of heat conduction that are observable in everyday life:- heat conduction through walls- heat conduction through clothing- heat conduction from many home appliances

Examples for conduction?

gold silver

What are non-examples of conduction?

Non-examples meaning the opposite of examples. So the opposite of Conduction is Convection. So an example of Convection could be per say ice melting. So that would be the Non-example of Conduction.

Is a pan over a flame radiation or conduction?

Both the flame heating the pan and the pan heating the water are examples of conduction. Convection is when the molecules of water heat other molecules of water.

Examples of conduction in everyday life?

Some examples of conduction in every day life are when a hot object is cooled in a freezer, when a person takes a warm bath and hot food cooling down on a stove top....hope that helps :)))
