The ship names were the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria. He did not sail to America and never knew it existed. He landed on the island Hispaniola and thought he was in India.
Those ships were named Pinta, Santa Clara -usually called Niña after the owner's name, and Santa María (Saint Mary). In the last of those was where Christopher Columbus travelled.
