The 2 most famous places in Scotland are probrably Edinburgh (the capital) and Glasgow. There are many things to see in these towns, and some recomendations from me are, in Edinburgh, Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, Jenna's and the Royal Mile and in Glasgow, the main attraction is really shopping, but there are losts of interesting museums and stuff.

Everyone will have their favourites, but I suggest The Forth Rail Bridge, Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, Ben Nevis and, uhmm, the Cuillin Hills of Skye. Lots more!

I had never before heard Scotland refered to as "the land of cakes" so I just did an internet search and low and behold it is apparently called "the land of cakes" because it is famous for its oatmeal cakes.
