Well, what I rad somewhere is that you first start at your toes, and completely relax them, and imagine them falling asleep. Then move up in about one inch parts. Usually you will fall asleep before you reach the tip of your head.
There are a lot of books and pills that can help you fall asleep faster. In fact, there are sometimes seminars by doctors giving you tips for falling asleep faster.
