the flasher unit (tridon/trico part# EL12) is located under the dash to the right of the steering column for model years 1997-2005 : The BPAs do not use the old style inexpensive EL12 flasher unit. They use a dealer only flasher module part that costs around $50, but to install it you have to pull the entire dash to access it. Huge job! The unit is white plastic and about 3 inch by 1.5 inch and encloses a couple mini flasher units inside. If your emergency flashers work but one of the turn signals will no longer come on, the more likely part failure is the multi function turn signal lever. : A simple test for this is to remove the light bulb from the cornering lamp (the bright light that illuminates the side that you are turning to, not the turn signal bulb). After removing the bulb, retest your turn signal. If, like mine, it resumes flashing, that would indicate that the turn signal lever can not handle the electrical load anymore and may need to be replaced. Or if you can live without the cornering lamp, you can postpone the repair til a later date.
