What are Plains? |
[Edit] |
Answer
When the word is spelled P-L-A-I-N-S, plains consists of vast, flat land that usually has various grasses growing on it. Plains do not have trees on them. Plains are not mountainous, but are flat lands. Rarely are they spoken of in the singular, as in "a plain," but that would be correct if you said your home is located on a plain.
When the word is spelled P-L-A-N-E-S, planes are geometrical shapes, in the same group as cones, squares, triangles, etc.
Or, when the word is spelled P-L-A-N-E-S, you may be talking about airplanes, the shortened version. So, taken out of the context of the sentence the word was used in, I don't know which you are talking about. I'm guessing the first spelling, above.
