∙ 12y agoRoy Lichtenstein was an important cog in the wheel of the pop art movement. The main factors that make his work 'pop' are its relevance to the real world and situations faced by the society. Another factor is the ease with which his artworks could be replicated. They did not have the high-brow attitude of traditional arts during that time, making his work really pop-art.

∙ 10y agoPop Art painter Roy Lichtenstien was made famous for his large 1960s paintings that recalled images from comic book panels, complete with word balloons and large areas of flat color achieved by use of evenly space dots. Although they appear mechanical, these images are not silk-screened, but painted by hand.
