Answer:
SERP - Search Engine Results Pages.

When you do a search on google, or any other search engine the results that you get are termed as (SERP)

This term is used by Search Engine Optimizers and Webmasters, to refers to the search results.

The context of this terms is usually in terms of - ' whats your SERP ranking' or 'How to improve your SERP rank' etc. This basically means that where does your website stand in the results displayed by the search Engine.

If a user searches for a particular word/ term, the site that's listed 1st on the results page is termed as being 1st in SERP ranking, similarly the site which is displayed 10 on the search result has 10th SERP ranking and so on.

The SERP ranking gains importance because any user is 90% likely to visit the first 10 website listed on the search results. Beyond the 10th website, only 10% users bother to look whats there.

So if you want to be at the top of your business achieving good SERP ranking becomes essential.

Usually companies aim for being in the top 10 SERP ranking, this helps them generate more traffic/ get more visitors.

SERP is more important than Page rank.PageRank is what Google uses to determine the importance of a web page. It's one of many factors used to determine which pages appear in search results. But for me SERP has more important than page rank. The place in the SERP is much more important than any PR, you could have a PR3 site that hardly shows up for important keyword searches making it pretty useless because people won´t find it, and you could have a PR0 ranking on the first page of the search engines for keywords that bring in traffic, making it much more valuable. Pagerank is still important. It shows us how much authority our webpage's have. If you're looking to build a site to sell links, than PR matters, because advertisers make decisions based on Pagerank. As far as SERP goes, PR has little or no significance for SERP position.
