There are other effects that have been noted... Flaxseed may lower blood sugar levels. If you have Diabetes or hypoglycemia or are taking medications that affect blood sugar you may want to use caution with flax. Flaxseed can also aggravate bleeding disorders (i.e. increase risk of bleeding). It may reduce blood pressure.
Some studies have shown flaxseed intake to increase levels of certain fatty acids in breast milk. It should be avoided if you have diarrhea or other colon problems. This isn't a 100% complete list of possible things to watch for, but it covers the main stuff.
