The Salsuri Foundation was established in October 2004 to organize an international salsa festival, Salsuri, in Suriname's capital city at Paramaribo. The first Salsuri was held in November 2005 to coincide with Suriname's 30th year of independence on November 25. It's an annual festival that brings together teachers, artists, participants, and fans from around the world. Salsuri 2010 is scheduled for November 18-21.
