Wiccans believe in reincarnation, magick, a Goddess, a God, the immanence of deity, the divine in all life (including nature), and many related laws and tenets. We will go into all of these beliefs, their laws and tenets, in detail later.
1.) The Wiccan Rede
In its short form, the Wiccan Rede tells us: "Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill; An 'it harm none, do what ye will." In its absolute shortest form, the Rede says: "Harm None." There is a great deal more to the Rede than these words, and that will also be discussed further.
Here, we shall suffice to say that we take "Harm None" seriously, and we expect to adhere to this law- not out of fear of some punishment or retribution- but because we are conscious souls, with the ability to choose to give respect and kindness to others. Self Defense is the only excuse to cause harm, it's better to defend yourself than to let another cause you harm.
2.) The Law of Three Fold Return
This law tells us that what we put out into the universe returns to us threefold (three times). There are several different debates and ideas about this law. Some folks believe it takes exactly three times for us to learn a lesson. Some folks think it is three times three. Or even three times three times three! Some people say that we will reap the consequences of our actions however, much is necessary to teach us a lesson. Still others believe strongly in Karma, and that our offenses or our greatest deeds will stay with us from one life to the next, and we will face our lessons in subsequent lives.
Because this ties in so closely with reincarnation, we will also discuss this in further depth. However, this is not a law to remind us that we will be punished if we do wrong, or rewarded if we do right. Again, we should expect ourselves to continue on a path of positivity, because we have the ability to make the right choices- not because we fear retribution, because we desire to respect each other.
