I don't believe there are any specific responsibilities for godmothers in a wedding; it doesn't directly correlate with a wedding role. Technically, the role of a godmother is to provide spiritual guidance, although many people don't do this. If the godmother is actively participating in the religious path of the godchild, it would be appropriate to offer spritual advice about the union and how religion can be incorporated into the marriage.
