There are no really advantages. Global warming kills tons of polar bears, ice melts so badly that the polar bears cant find land and end up drowning. The world will be very much effected by global warming.
Climate warming, or global warming, sound so benign. But there are actually few advantages to global warming. Some regions could have milder winters or better rainfall.
- Loss of species habitat
- Widespread extinction of species in the wild, and loss of biodiversity
- Increased desertification
- Bleaching of corals due to the rising acidity of the ocean
- Coastal inundation due to rising sea levels, higher storm surges and erosion
- Displacement of populations from low lying areas in parts of China, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom and some Pacific Island nations.
- Spread of some tropical diseases and malaria.
- Health risks from heatwaves and sudden floods
- Possible food shortages
- Storm damage and resultant economic losses
- Loss of income by those affected by climate changes such as droughts or floods
- Higher insurance premiums
Were it not for the greenhouse effect then the earth would be barely habitable. That is not to say that we should allow wholesale pollution of the atmosphere by the indiscriminate use of fossil fuels and other chemicals.
Careful and informed decisions should be made.
Nor can we simply prohibit the use of such chemical. The economic effects would be a disaster too.
