German Keyboards have keys for the extra German characters of course. You can use ALT + nnnn combinations otherwise. ä = ALT 0228 ö = ALT 0246 ü = ALT 0252 Ä = ALT 0196 Ö = ALT 0214 Ü = ALT 0220 ß = ALT 0223 (or use ss instead Example Street = Straße or Strasse )

Hot keys are shortcuts on one's keyboard which perform various functions. Some combinations include, alt + F4, to turn ones computer off. Pressing the control + alt + delete at the same time will bring ones computer to a screen where one can log off, switch users or change their password as well. Alt + F will bring up the file menu on ones browser window also.

Delete is a system key and is used in some combinations such as Ctrl + Alt + Del. It removes text after the text pointer.Backspace is not used in any combinations and removes text before the text pointer.
