In today's society, your perception of sin will depend on your religion, moral and ethical upbringing and prejudices. Nevertheless, popular culture has sustained the idea of 7 dealy sins. The catholic church divides sin into 2 categories - Venial, for less serious and forgivable lapses, and Mortal (or Cardinal, or Deadly) Sin There have been several lists of 'deadly sins' but the most widely used version is that defined by Pope Gregory 1 and popularised by Dante's poem 'The Divine Comedy'. These 'Deadly' sins These are: luxuria (extravagance) gula (gluttony) avaritia (avarice/greed) acedia (acedia/discouragement) IRA (wrath) invidia (envy) superbia (pride) From another perspective, each religion will have a number of rules, contravention of which would constitute a sin. The Christian religion for example lists the 10 Commandments. Other religions will have different sets of critria to define the severity of transgression.
One thought from the Bible:
According to The Bible, there are basically two types of sin.
SIN is a 'falling short of perfection'. ALL people have sinned (Romans 3:23) and are sinners simply by being born as one of Adam's descendants (Romans 5:12). Sin leads to death(Ezekiel 18:4), but, because of Jesus' sacrifice(Romans 3:24-26)imperfect humans suffering from the effects of Adamic sin can be forgiven(1 Timothy 1:13), and if they die, can be assured of a resurrection(Acts 24:15/ John 11:25) (Job 14:13)(Isaiah 25:8)(Isaiah 26:19) and the hope of everlasting life(John 17:3)(John 3:16).
But there is one type of sin that is not covered by Jesus' sacrifice (Hebrews 10:26-27) and holds out no hope of resurrection or life. This is an intentional, willful 'sin against the holy spirit'(Mark 3:29) (Matthew 12:31+32)(Luke 12:10). This 'blasphemy' is not based on 'human weakness', but on a knowledgeable, willful and deliberate action against the operation of God's spirit, and comes from a wicked heart(Matthew 15:19; Mark 7:21, 22). This type of sin will not ever be forgiven(Hebrews 6:4-6; Hebrews 10:26, 27).

Islamic view:Sins differ by their severity and whther between yourself and God or between yourself and other people. In Islam, the severest sin is to worship God with partner. The first and basic pillar of Islam is to worship God with no partner, no associate, no son, and no equivalence. Failing this belief is the biggest sin.All sins are forgiven by God; per His will, if the sinner sincerely repents by admitting his/her sin, asking God for forgiveness, intending not to do it again, and if the sin is towards anoth person he/she should resolve it with him/her.
All the sins cannot possibly be mentioned in a short answer. But everything that people do should glorify God first. If somone does something that does not glorify God first then He frowns upon it. Love everyone even your enemies as you love yourself and do all things with gladness.
All sins is negative. If it's negative. It's a sin. Positive is not sin. So be more positive
