I also have this problem. I have only been able to take Tylenol (and I have a few T3's hidden away when I REALLY have a problem). I think this is just one of those things we have to deal with when having kidney problems-- I really miss the hot tub!

Unfortunately, pain killing is not the forte of alternative medicine. Years ago, people used to take opium to kill pain the natural way; but that is no longer an option for obvious reasons. You can get something very similar to aspirin from willow bark, and many have reported pain relief from the plant; Salvia Divinorum. However, that has recently become illegal in some states. It is not a federally-restricted drug, however. Alternative medicine tries to concentrate on the cause of the pain, and fix that, instead of the symptoms. Unfortunately, it is often not as easy as allopathic medicine in the short term; but offers great answers for chronic disease, poisoning, etc.

Advil, Asprin, Tylenol, Tums if its heart burn or stomach ache. But Advil or ibuprofen work the fastest to relieve pain. I also find that if you take a nap, you should usually wake up pain-free! If the pain is continuous I would see a doctor or Minute-Clinic to get some help.

Willow Bark, or buy Poppy Pods and turn them to tea, great pain relief. Except that can be addicting if you drink too much. Tremadol if the pain is a bit more serious dependent on the case, or is it for fever reduction? If pain is two much for Vicodin, which wouldn't work as it contains Aceteminophen, then I'd suggest Medical Marijuana (Even though there isn't a true distinction from "Medical" and "High Quality" street Cannabis.) But I can't say what you would need I'm just a Pharmacist I could only say, if I knew your case, but if needed ask your doctor about Tremadol and ask other local Pharmacists what can you take and explain the situation they are far more helpful in medicinal knowledge than doctors, trust me I'm a Pharmacist. =]

There are several over-the-counter pain relievers available, including aspirin, acetaminophen (Tylenol®), naproxen (Aleve®), and others. Each medication has its advantages and disadvantages. Read and follow the label directions carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any problems or questions.
