The fabric used for making aprons varies, including canvas, denim, duck or other sturdy cotton fabric, or you might choose vinyl. For a more decorative, as opposed to work, apron, a medium weight cotton would be nice. If you want to use a lighter fabric, then you should line it for longer wear.
