What are callouses how do they form on guinea pigs feet and how can you fix them?

[Edit]

Answer

A callus (or callous) is an especially toughened area of skin which has become relatively thick and hard as a response to repeated contact or pressure. (copied from wikipedia).

Do you have your guinea pig in a cage with a wire bottom?? If so you should buy it a different cage as these are not good for the tender bottoms of guinea pigs feet.

What kind of bedding or shavings are you using for the bottom of their cage. They should have soft to walk on. I'll watch this question and get back to you if you have more answers or questions.
