Canines are used to tear and rip flesh. Think of it as though your eating a tough steak with your hands;

  • The front Incisor's are used to slice in at the furthest point away, not only starting to weaken the meat but also helping to remove that section out as you pull.
  • Most people I've seen would then turn their head as they pull away, putting all the force around their Canines to tear and shred the meat off.
  • Finally the Molars at the back grind and mush the food down.
