What are chances of short term memory loss recovery due to lack of oxygen to the brain?

Answer:

I had an attack of pnuemonia in November,2008. When my husband found me on the floor and called the ambulance, the paramedics put the oxygen sensor on my finger and it read 10. I was in ICU for 10 days, then rehab for 3 weeks. I have short term memory loss. I can tell you what color my Easter dress was when I was 8, but every morning when I wake up I don't know what I had for dinner-or if in fact I had dinner. I look in the dishwasher for clues. I have applied for ss disability because I don't think an employer is going to want to retrain me after lunch. I have lived in the reno/sparks area all my life and sometimes when my husband drives me home I don't recognize where I am.
