What are civil judgements?

[Edit]

Answer

a judgement is a courts decision to a particular matter. A judgement for 500$ awarded to A from B means B "has" to pay A 500$. Once the judgement is made this does not mean the check is written right then and there. The court's job was to decide who gets what. A different matter is to when who gets what. This does not happen at the same court proceeding.

Answer

Civil judgements are the court decisions made at the end of a civil trial. They are not criminal charges, they usually come about when one person sues another person or company.

While they don't show up on a criminal record, they may very will show up in a credit report!
