What are contact and and non-contact forces?

Answer:
Contact Forces are those forces that occur do to a physical interaction between two objects where the objects touch each other. an example is the frictional force that occurs between any two surfaces that make contact with each other. Another example is the instantaneous force that occurs when a baseball bat transfers its momentum to a baseball, causing the balls velocity to change.

Non-contact Forces Include those forces that occur between two objects regardless of whether or not the objects make contact with each other. The electrical force that occurs between two charges objects, even when they are separated by a distance is an example. An analogous example is the gravitational force that occurs between to objects. Both of these forces are present regardless of whether the objects are contacting each other.
