What are duties of deacons' wife in a baptist church?

A Deacon's wife role in the church is light in comparison to her husband's role. The women do participate in Communion and Baptism. It is the women who set up the trays with the Grape Juice and crackers. Maintain the robe during baptism etc. A deacon's wife is supposed to encourage their husbands by keeping them lifted in prayer, and help them with their duties. As women, we have to be spiritually equipped to minister and pray for others. There are some things that a deacon may have the wife do, such as minister to other women. Basically, be one who encourages others to grow in the Word of God. Sometimes God may call on you to enter a spiritual mother role with a young lady, or you may need to physically step in and give a helping hand. But mainly, be in constant prayer of your husband because you are his "help mate". Stay in constant fellowship with other wives and learn from each other. Be a mentor to someone so that they can become spiritually mature and teach others. (Titus 2:3-5)

The wife of a Deacon is varied because the name Deacon has differant meanings in differant Religions. In the Catholic Religion a Deacons wife can work go out gambling at night basically do her own thing. In some Protestant Religions the Deacons wife is also the Pastor's wife and she is expected to have afternoon teas with various factions of the church eg; the food bank.the church cleaners, or fund raising commities of which she can be or usually is the chairperson .However, all Deacon's wives are expected to lead morally correct lives and be suportive of the husbands work.

In Protestant sects Deacons ( male) are usually concerned with the business-management end of the church, not theological matters and counseling. they would supervise the taking of collections, fund raising and so on. They are not ordained ministers and are in effect ushers-in-chief or something akin. a Deaconess is, of course the female equivalent rank. They might be more active in say, child-care or charitable activities such as Food pantries, clothing depots, etc.

In the Baptist church I attend deacons attend to the spiritual needs of the body along with the pastor. it is also the deacons job to prepare the communion table and serve. Deacons also help in the daily happenings in the church if and when they occur. Deacons also make visits to widows, the ill, and to the home bound. These are some of the duties.

I did not know there were Baptist Deaconess, I attend a Fundelmental Baptist Church and we do not have them , I have not seen in The Bible where it is scriptually mentioned to have them.
