There are several definitions of acids and bases. Because of this, the answer depends on the definition.

Using the Lewis acid/base definition, any molecule that accepts electrons is an acid, any molecule that donated electrons in a base.

eg. FeCl3 is a Lewis acid, Cl- is a Lewis base.

A more conventional definition is the bronsted-lowery acid/base theory, which states that an acid is a molecule that can donate an H+ ion and a base is a molecule which can accept an H+ ion. Once a bronsted-lowery acid has lost a proton, it becomes a conjugate base and once a bronsted-lowery base has gained a proton, it becomes a conjugate acid.

eg. H2SO4 is an bronsted-lowery acid, HSO4- is its conjugate base

HCl is a bronsted-lowery acid, Cl- is its conjugate base

NH3 is a bronsted-lowery base, NH4+ is its conjugate acid

OH- is a bronsted-lowery base, H2O is its conjugate acid.

Hopefully this answers your question.
