This answer is not so true anymore this is how it was many years ago. The bottom line is that with improved lives and care people are living longer. Poverty stricken people are often having unprotected sex which leads to children. Third world countrys are very bad off. The average life span went frome 40's to about 70 over the past century or two.

There are many reasons, for the rapid growth of population.

  • Due to many illiterate people.
  • people who wants son to extend their family,so they go on giving birth until a male child is born.

So government should take necessary steps ,i.e.,it should give the basic & necessary knowledge regarding the family planning.it should be thought in a understandable language to the illiterate people...

By doing so,we can control the increasing growth of population....

Because people have more kids than necessary to replace themselves after they die.

If every couple only had 2, the population would stay very level; one young person to replace the parent when (s)he passes away. But instead, people are having kids at a faster rate than people are dying, which means that those kids are having more kids, and those kids more kids, faster than the rate of dying people can make up for.

In rural countries, kids are extremely important. They're the ones you count on to work for you when they're young, and support you when you're old. Some people in more developed countries just want to have lots of kids. More than 2 is too many; you're just adding to the population.
