The London Bridge which was constructed in 1820, was dismantled in 1973 and reassembled at Lake Havasu City, Arizona as a tourist attraction as it was no longer capable of dealing with modern traffic. It is a very ordinary bridge and it is hard to understand why people would want to go and see it. You may be thinking about Tower Bridge which is very different.

In 1876, a competition was held to design the Tower Bridge. Horace Jones and John Wolfe Barry made the winning design. Construction began in 1886 and it was opened June 30, 1894. Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee crossed the bridge in 2012.

Tower Bridge opened in 1894.

It is built of 11000 tons of steel, Cornish granite and Portland stone.

It is the only bridge across the River Thames which can be raised to allow tall ships to pass underneath.

When the bridge is raised, pedestrians can still cross to the other side of the river by using the walkway at the top of the bridge.

It is situated right next to the Tower of London - after which it is named.

It isn't falling down. It's often confused with Tower Bridge. It's a very ordinary bridge. It has no reason to be famous. It's predecessor is in Arizona.
