The difference between Forums and Chat rooms is Forums are like Whiteboards where everyone can chat on and write messages, and Chat rooms are like rooms where there is already a number of people online and chatting, but unlike forums it has more privacy. Chat rooms allows you to join freely to chat with others that are already in a certain room.
I'm going to try to explain this to you very well, Forums are sites where you can speak to people online on the site you are on so you register and meet new people on the site like in virtual worlds. chatrooms are just about the same although there's adults tweeens, teens so what I mean by that is There's chatrooms on the same site but in different rooms of the chat rooms so there's an adults one on the right a tweens one on the middle and a teens one on the left.
