Four Types of Compact Disks are: CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD ROM. (Well theres five).

Edit:

A compact disc is a CD. Therefore a DVD is not a compact disc. DVD is digital video disc.

CD-ROM is also a piece of hardware. Not a physical disc.

There are only 3 types of CD's. They are

- CD (Just the disc)
- CD-R (Recordable CD. You can copy things to it ONCE)
- CD-RW (Rewritable Disc. This is a CD that you can re-write over data currently on it.)
