What are good characteristics of Joseph in the Bible story?

Answer:
Love for his brothers, kindness and faith. Faith in God when he was in prison and forgivness because he forgave his brothers for treating him unfairly. This of course relates to the Old Testament Joseph. The New Testament Joseph was a just man as is mentioned in Matthew 1:19. He also wanted not to shame Mary but to 'put her away privately.' So he was evidently kind, but also wanted to do what was right, which explains why he married Mary after he received God's assurance on the matter. He also obeyed God and went down to Egypt.
Joseph had an effective and simple plan which averted a food crisis in his country
