What are ideal growing conditions for a norfolk island pine?

Answer:

Ideally, it likes a bit more humidity than what is normally in a house. Frequent misting should cure that for you though. When the top layer of soil is dry, it is time to water it, and it also likes a slighty cool location. Not drafty though. Filtered sunlight, not direct. In the summer time, it likes to spend some time outside, but, again, not in direct sunlight.

You will know if the plant is in too warm a spot if it starts to drop lots of needles. Just move it to a cooler location and it should be fine.
