What are land snails and pond snails?

Answer:

Land Snails are sweet, slimy critters that have shells upon their backs and have a single "foot" with you could also call a belly. Pond snails are basically the same thing except they live in ponds. Snails are in the gastropod family. Snails make wonderful pets, and their shells can be mostly any color. Sadly, these wonderful Mollusks are sometimes eaten in some places such as France for example. This delicacy is called escargot. The Snails' body is soft and has a slimy feeling. Land snails have two pairs of tentacles. The longer pair on top are called eye stalks. The eye spots are on top of the eye stalks. Yet Snails have poor eye sight. The shorter pair is for smelling and feeling. Snails have sort of a tongue with teeth on the tongue. This is called the radula. The radula scoops up bits of food rather than chewing. Snails have both male and female sex organs. But they need two Snails to have babies. So both Snails can have little baby Snails. (I call baby Snails Snailets. Although this may not be the proper name.)
