What are nationalities?

Answer:
A person's nationality is the country of their citizenship. People commonly misuse the word "nationality" in place of "ethnicity," which refers to a person's ancestry, or in some cases, their race. When giving a person's background, one generally lists their nationality first, followed by their ethnicity, e.g. African-American, or Russian-Jew.
