What are opinions on the best ceramic gift companies? |
[Edit] |
I think that nothing says "American Country" like Bybee Pottery. Handmade in central Kentucky, the clay is from the same area that the settlers of Boonesborough used.
Jugs, bowls, vases, plates, candlesticks, butter dishes, salt and pepper sets, they make anything used in the kitchen, yet it still looks elegant in a china cabinet. They use many different colors on the glazes, either solid or speckled. Special orders may be placed.
Years ago I visited their workshop and showroom, and was impressed at the simple potter's wheel that made the sturdy and beautiful ceramics. I bought many items then, and still use them and cherish the memory of that trip.
