Answer:

A phosphate group attached to a lipid group (Usually 2 of them), or a fatty group, which is a hydrocarbon chain. They are made in the cytosol and are an important component in the cell membrane, as pertaining to the model of the Fluid Mosaic Membrane. This is because they are polar and can potentially prevent ions moving through the membrane.
