All electrolytic capacitors (e-caps) are polarized capacitors whose anode electrode (+) are made of a special metal on which an insulating oxide layer originates by anodization (forming), which acts as the dielectric of the electrolytic capacitor.

The ease with which the election distribution in a molecule is distorted. You can think of of the polarizability of a molecule as a measure of the "squashiness" of its electron cloud.

Polarities are the things that distribute what makes a thing achieve what is trying to be achieved. For example: If you reverse the polarities in a microwave, you should get a microwave that cools/freezes things.

These are arbitrary naming conventions. In fact, from an electrical cell (commonly mis- called a battery), the electrons leave the negative terminal and proceed to to the positive one. Before folk had means to determine this, it was assumed wrongly, that the reverse was true.

Similar naming conventions apply arbitrarily to clockwise, magnetic north, and so on.

Do the same polarities repel?

Yes.

Why is it useful to know the polarities of molecules?

Because then you will be able to tell if they will combine to make a new compound. Those with the same polarities will not match up.

How do you identify the polarities in round magnet?

You can identify the polarities in a round magnet by placing another magnet next to it. If they repel they have the same polarity and if they are attracted the polarity is the same.

What is a battery method of testing transformer polarities?

You will be able to find out the polarities of the windings. You can just put a digital meter on one winding and then touch the battery to the other side to see which polarity it has.

How can a compass be used to detect Earth's magnetic field?

A compass needle is actually a weak magnet. Because in magnetism opposite polarities attract while like polarities repel, the needle's north pole seeks the earth's south pole and vice versa.
