There is a surplus population of cats and dogs. No one is willing to take care of them, so to keep them from running wild in human-populated areas (which can be a health hazard because of diseases like rabies), they are euthanized. This is considered the most painless way to end their lives. You can do your part to prevent euthanization by spaying or neutering your pets, and by adopting from shelters like the Humane Society instead of purchasing your pet from breeders.
More cats are euthanized than dogs because cats usually enter shelters lacking owner identification. Based on statistics, 71 percent of cats that enter shelter are being euthanized compared to that of 56 percent in dogs.
There are many reasons. Some of them are: 1.) they can't afford to pay for the animal and all its needs.
2) they need more space for other animals
3) they want to end the pain for the animal(if the cat or dog has a serious problem with no cure)
animals get euthanized for several reasons:
-terminally ill
-incurably agressive
-overcrowding
they give the animal a shot and it goes by by
because people cant spay or neuter there cats and then they have kittens and they either cant afford or do not want the kittens and so they abandoned them
One of the obvious contrasts between dogs and cats is that cats are much more independent than dogs. Dogs are more codependent, which results in them being slightly more needy but also infinitely more easy to train.
mostly because there are more unwanted cats than unwanted dogs and I don't know why, but people more take notice of stray dogs than cats, so there are more unwanted cats.
