We've tried everything before finally finding the solution. We tried cleaning their dog house and play areas daily, setting up fly traps, dressing the wounds and spraying liquid band-aid on their ears, even tried applying desitin cream per some websites. Nothing really worked until a church member told us they had the same problem and nothing else worked except K9 Advantix!!
Our dogs were already on Frontline but out of desperation, we bought some K9 Advantix and applied them (our dogs were large dogs. If yours are smaller, check with your vet first before double-dosing). IT WORKED!!! NOT ONLY DID K9 ADVANTIX STOP THE FLIES FROM BITING, IT SEEMED TO HAVE REPELLED THEM AND SOON, WE WEREN'T SEEING ANY FLIES NEAR OUR DOGS' PLAY AREAS!!! Their wound healed within a couple of weeks (with some minor dressing) and their soft ears returned good as new!!!! If you are doubtful, read the below label from the product website: http://k9advantix.petparents.com/howItWorks.cfm. Other similar pet meds DO NOT claim to remedy biting flies. ONLY K-9 Advantix does.
Stops fleas from biting.
K9 Advantix offers proven protection against fleas in multiple stages of development. Imidacloprid, an active ingredient in K9 Advantix, stops biting fleas within three to five minutes and kills them before they lay eggs.2 K9 Advantix also kills flea larvae preventing them from developing into adult fleas, breaking the flea lifecycle in multiple stages.
== == There are certain natural alternatives:
* citronella oil(There is an all natural citronella spray that they use for horses that you could use on a dog and it's safe.) * eucalyptus oil * moderate amounts of garlic (mix with their food) * apple cider vinegar (mix small amount with dog's water)
Of course, there are sprays and medication available online if this is what you want.
== == * "FLY OFF" you could find this at your local petsmart or petco == ==

sorry but ------------------------------------------------------------------------NO!
You can try a mixture of apple cider vinegar, salt, citronella oil and mint in a spray bottle. For wounds apply some creamed honey. Yes, you would need an elizabeth collar to prevent a dog from licking it off, but honey is a fantastic wound treatment as it repels flies and regenerates damaged tissue at an alarming rate.
A Natural Home Remedy to rid your dog of flies is a mixture of vinegar & water in a spray bottle.
yes they do
Well chrisropher didn't love dogs because he wasn't bothered by them
mostly wild cats, but only if they can be bothered
Taca flies dogs!!!!!!!!!
Would you like to be bothered while you were eating? No they don't like to be bothered. They're not as aggressive as dogs while they're eating but they still don't like it. Hope this was helpful :)
Milkweed is toxic but I don't know of any dogs that were interested in eating it.
he didn't like the way they smelled
Dogs have a sensetive sense of hearing. The instrament, to your dog, probably bothered it.
You can always purchase fly repellents because they work on all types of flies. The other best way to get rid of them is to place bug zappers around where they are the heaviest.
They can do, breeds of dogs aren't bothered by who they work with breed wise.
