The first few weeks, the site will sore with possible swelling, redness, itchyness, etc which all could be taken to be "rejection". Keep it clean and dry, avoid getting it caught on anything and messing around with it, and it'll heal. Some people's take longer than others, and it may become infected, but with proper care and time, the wound will heal.
