A person can fatally overdose from use of methamphetamine. Increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, and vascular constriction affect many organ systems, causing heart problems, stroke, and acute kidney failure. They usually result in direct toxic effects, followed by multiple organ failure. Death from a methamphetamine overdose is associated with the rapid onset of kidney failure and collapse of the circulatory system. A large percentage of patients who die usually have symptoms of coma, shock, inability to pass and secrete urine, and muscle twitching. Other complications associated with methamphetamine intoxication include pulmonary edema, hypoglycemia, intracerebral hemorrhage, hyperthermia, hypertension, confusion, delirium and hyperactivity.

I have seem someone die off a heroin od so i should know. They dont want to move they just want to stay in one place. Very shallow breathing will occur which means they are not getting enough oxygen to the brain. Trouble staying awake. At this point you should be at a hospital or on the way at least. When their lips start turning blue that means they are in severe danger of dying. If you are gonna do heroin, and im not against doin it, just do a reasonable amount and dont binge.

simply put, you fall asleep.

Thats not true..I am a recovering meth addict and from personal expierence with meth overdose I can tell you that some of the signs are:

-overstimulation

-sever headache

-chest pain

-shaking

-hyperventalation

and as a result of the hyperventalation and lack of oxygen to the body, severe shakes happen to keep your body warm and you get cold.

Now this is just what happened to me and what I've seen. You really should just not do it..it's such a disgusting and dangerous drug.

Signs of crystal meth use vary from person to person, depending upon body mass, route of administration, and dosage. The general effects experienced are euphoria, anxiety, hyperactivity, and insomnia. When larger doses are taken, one may behave violently, go into a state of confusion, and in some cases have a heart attack or stroke.

One common sign that someone might be using meth is an onset of fidgety, obsessive behavior, similar to those who suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder. Along with the fidgety behavior, one is uncharacteristically talkative, to the point that they may be incoherently rambling. If a person suddenly seems hyperactive and obsessive, it may be an indication they are experimenting with methamphetamine.

Physical symptoms of methamphetamine use include red eyes, dilated pupils, and sweating. Methamphetamine users often dart their eyes around not being able to concentrate on any one thing for very long. Meth addicts commonly have many scabs and skin lesions, as they pick nervously at their own body, and the substance slows healing and deteriorates the immune system. Finally, meth almost always inhibits hunger in the user. Crystal meth addicts often lose weight at an alarmingly fast rate, and are unhealthily thin.

Also, you may see most, if not all, of these signs:

-they may seem uninterested in activities or hobbies they once enjoyed

-goals that they seemed to be completely set upon and motivated toward achieving have somehow been forgotten.

-they withdraw socially, or distance themselves from non-users, even (especially) family members.

-over a short period of time, they begin to have trouble making it to work on time, staying at work the entire shift, or has trouble in the workplace that would not be like them normally. -sexual activity possibly increases or their sexual preference changes, though meth does not make anyone's preference change without them first having the inclination; meth use may, however, create such arousal that they act on the preferences, seeming then to be "new" preferences.

-rapid and/or substantial weight loss.

- they may have break outs, like acne, on the skin that they may or may not seem to aggravate by constantly picking at; this is the reason for meth "sores," when an addict cannot leave a bump or simple blemish on the skin alone. Sometimes meth makes a user break out more so than normal, but it's the constant sitting in front of the mirror picking at bumps which makes the sores and scarring on a meth user, and not that meth users have sores or lesions which plague them

-they talk without being able to stop, it seems, or either they clam-up and do quite the opposite, such as when paranoia becomes intense.

-they are sometimes irrational in their perceptions of "what is really going on," to the point of sounding insane. This is usually due to lack of sleep, dehydration, lack of nourishment, etc.

-when they crash (finally go to sleep), it is a very hard, deep sleep with no movement at all hardly, possibly lasting more than 24 hours. If when trying to rouse them from sleep you are met with someone who seems lethargic, they probably have about 5 to 6 more hours of sleep to go before being able to comprehend you and wake in a normal manner.

-they may seem agitated, aggressive, or so happy/giddy that it seems unbelievable.

-their eyes may be dilated, opened wider than normal, and/or scanning/searching the environment.

*Speaking from personal experience, I can say I agree 100% with every symptom listed above. I found this information at

This depends upon the dose and how frequently the drug is being used. Meth causes the metabolism to race. The heart rate accelerates, people sweat and become thirsty and dehydrated, they lose interest in food, they talk a lot (a lot), are restless and fidgety, have dilated pupils even in bright sunlight, and can be elated or paranoid.
Chronic users look exhausted because they don't sleep much. They can be gaunt, tense, irritable, paranoid and may have dental problems. They still talk a lot and now they may be sounding crazy with strangely connected ideas.
