Basically there are no signs for the rapture. The nearest signs you can look for are the signs of the coming tribulation. Israel is the nation to watch because the tribulation is an Israeli event. It is the "Time of Jacob's Trouble". If you are "pre-trib" you will believe that the rapture will occur before the time of the tribulation. So world events, especially Israel will give you some signs that perhaps the rapture is near. BUT this is not always true. Men have been looking for the rapture for many years (including the Apostle Paul) and it is still future. We are to look for that blessed hope in our every day lives. (The coming of Jesus Christ for His children or the resurrection of the saints). There are many prophecies relating to the tribulation, but many will not appear before hand.
The rapture is a very touchy subject and you will see many, many different opinions on the subject.

The Bible does not say when the rapture is. Jesus said that only God himself knew exactly when it will be. He said that there are signs to look for that will indicate when the end times are coming, but nothing that told us exactly what date.
