The particles of solids are very close and tight and are organised. The particles of liquids are randomly organised and are further apart. The molecules in gases are really far apart.

Solids, liquids and gasses are different states of matter.

Matter is made up of tiny particles (atoms, molecules and ions).

In a solid they are closely packed, usually in a pattern, and they cannot move around.

In a liquid the particles can slide around but remain close to each other.

In a gas the particles move freely.
