Here are some do's and don'ts to show your girlfriend that you love her, care about her and that her presence has meaning in your life:

DO:

• Say "I love you" at least once a day.
• Bring her small tokens of your love now and then (a rose, a card, a soda pop...)
• Ask her if she needs anything.
• Ask her advice.
• Ask her about her day.
• Ask her about her job, her family, her friends (just be curious, though, not nosy...there is a fine line in there.)
• Offer your help whenever a need arises.
• Write her love notes.
• Listen to her. Be available to talk when she needs to talk.
• Offer to include her in your activities.

DON'T:

• Be overly possessive. This isn't love, it's insecurity, and can ruin a relationship.
• Walk out the door and not tell her where you're going.
• Assume she knows you love her. Tell her.
• Criticize her friends and family.
• Be controlling, ordering her day and sticking to your agendas.
• Hit her, push her, shove her, pinch her, pull her hair or anything else you wouldn't want done to you.
• Freak out if she tells you she's tired or has a headache.

Put yourself in your girlfriend's shoes and show her you love her in ways that you know she will appreciate and that you would appreciate yourself.
