What are some advantages and disadvantages of Internet marketing?

Internet MarketingI have been an internet Marketer for about 4 years now and there are many advantages and disadvantages of Internet Marketing:

Advantages:-

• It is possible to make money on the Internet - I have done it!
• There is always a possibility of earning more online than through paid employment - in other words, the money is infinite for Internet Marketing.
• You can work whenever you want - no 9-5 routine.
• With time, the amount of effort you put in will eventually pay you back ten fold.
• If you learn how to do Internet marketing properly you can sell you skills to others - there is a huge demand for Internet marketers with Search Engine Optimisation, PPC advertising, article marketing and website and graphic design on freelance sites.
• You don't need a huge amount of capital to get started. You could set your business up for just $39 per month. How many businesses do you know that started with that little capital?
• It's fun.
• The feeling you get when that first commission comes in in indescribable!

Disadvantages:-

• It is not 'get rich quick' they don't exist. Internet Marketing requires a lot of hard work.
• It can take time to start seeing results, sometimes months, so you have to be prepared to wait and be patient.
• There are a lot of scams and very few useful resources out there. Good resources do exist though if you look hard enough!

These are based on my experiences as an Internet Marketer. Just to put it in perspective, although I have been Internet marketing for over four years I only really started seeing results after a joined a training program last year. It all goes to show that the right information makes all the difference.

For me, the advantages of internet marketing outweighs the disadvantages.

Internet marketing especially affiliate marketing does not need to have stocks of the product that you are selling.

All you have to to is direct customers to the website of the product that you are promoting. A special link will be provided to give you credit or commission every time someone buys through your link.

The disadvantage that I see is the quality of products if you haven't actually tried the product you are selling yourself.
