some differences are 1. in the past TVs were in black and white and today the are in color 2.today they get better receiption then they did in the past 3. they are or can be big
some similar things 1. they show other peoples (characters) lives 2. they entertain a lot of people 3. famous people (celebrities) are on tv atleast once in their life
more differences: more boobies/skin/sex on tv today, the emergence of reality tv, today's shows show the corruption of moral values while tv shows of the past exalt moral values, more foul language now, women aren't always housewives on tv now, tv becomes increasingly provocative with time, more people get news from tv now than they did at the beginning, emergence of satellite/cable, same shows now on multiple channels, etc.
